Growing in popularity
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is growing in popularity as a non-invasive alternative to surgery. You can trust our experienced and knowledgeable team.
High-intensity focused ultrasound
HIFU uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to heat deep layers of the skin below the surface. This causes the skin to produce more collagen, resulting in firmer, smoother skin. It has already been used for some time to remove tumours, but the process has been developed to successfully tighten and revitalise saggy areas of the face. It is commonly used for brow lifts, improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and firm up jawlines.
Benefits of high-intensity focused ultrasound
Clinical studies have shown that HIFU treatment can be effective to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and deep lines, and to make sagging skin appear firmer and smoother. Non-surgical alternatives have become increasingly popular recently, and HIFU is one of the most popular. It has been shown to:
-
Firm and smooth the jawline
-
Tighten saggy skin, such as the neck
-
Reduce the appearance of wrinkles
-
Create smoother skin
-
Lift eyebrows, eyelids and cheeks
-
Tighten the décolletage
Safer, cheaper and less painful than surgery
Although more than one HIFU treatment may be needed, the treatments are far cheaper than a surgical facelift. There are also far less risks and side effects. During the procedure, you may feel slight discomfort such as a light prickling sensation. Immediately after the session, you may find that you have some mild swelling or redness, which will recede in just a few hours. The procedure is very safe, and you will be able to resume your normal daily activities immediately afterwards.
